BEIRUT- It remained unclear on Friday whether the latest bid in three months to elect a new president would even take place amid efforts to convince pro- and anti-Syrian factions to proceed with a vote.
“Saturday’s session may be postponed... given that things have gone back to point zero, and contacts seem to have ceased between the majority and the opposition,” the independent Al-Balad newspaper said.
